Alzheimer\u2019s is a devastating disease that has become a global health issue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">The theme of this year\u2019s World Alzheimer\u2019s Month is \u201c<strong>Dementia: Living Together<\/strong>\u201c. Alzheimer\u2019s associations all over the world are focusing their efforts on reducing the stigma associated with dementia and helping local communities to be more dementia-friendly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Misconceptions about Alzheimer\u2019s and dementia are common, so encouraging a better understanding amongst the public is very important. By helping people better understand dementia, the symptoms, and the extent to which Alzheimer\u2019s can progress, we help the patients, their family members and their caregivers cope. Because the population is aging, the number of people with Alzheimer\u2019s will continue to rise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Activities and events planned across the globe will include educational seminars, workshops, walks and social events for people with dementia and their carers.
