Fostering wellness and improving the lives of thousands of underprivileged people

With our healthcare program, we aim to support Kolkata and rural West Bengal's most disadvantaged, offering them the vital medical care they require.

  • Calcutta Rescue currently has four static healthcare clinics that provide free health treatment for a wide range of diseases including cancer, TB, leprosy and HIV.
  • Two Street Medicine ambulances go out to slums to provide medical care and health education for those who can’t get to the clinics.
  • An Outreach Team visits slums to give awareness sessions about good health and hygiene habits to create lasting behavioural change.
  • Community Health Workers work in the slums where they live, visiting families to provide advice and assist people to get treatment.
  • Calcutta Rescue works closely with government hospitals who refer patients to it for ongoing medical care. People come to our clinics from as far away as Jharkhand and the Sunderbans.
